“I am 29 years old and had my second smear with my general practitioner. I received results, which showed that smear is abnormal and positive for high-risk papillomavirus. I was quite nervous as haven’t had any problems before. Googled it and called Mr Raza secretary. She booked me for an immediate appointment the next day. Mr Raza was extremely reassuring and explained what the results meant and the next steps I need. He was able to do colposcopy at the same time.

Colposcopy was carried out. He was very reassuring and kept explaining all the steps to me. He explained the changes, biopsy test and its implications. He was speaking to me throughout and explained the changes on the cervix, therefore, needed a biopsy to confirm the abnormal cells. Mr Raza called me after three days to explain the results, which had shown CIN2.

This time I was not as worried as I knew I was in good hands. He explained to me the treatment needed and how it is 99% effective for removing the abnormal cells. The risks of bleeding, infection and the very small risk of miscarriage was discussed. In brief, it was a thorough discussion to put my anxieties at rest with was a loop excision of abnormal cells.

I was very happy with the fast and reliable service provided by Mr Raza and his office. I got my results on time everything was explained to me properly. They have now added me to their recall list and I will be going back to see Mr Raza in 6 months’ time for repeat smear.”

“I am 29 and have been suffering with period pains for a long time. I just thought it was normal but then spoke to my family and friends and realise my pains were a lot more painful. The pain gradually gets worse and I was now feeling this pain for almost the whole month. I also get pain during intercourse. I went to see my GP and was told that I will benefit seeing a endometriosis specialist therefore booked an appointment to see Mr Raza.

At the appointment, Mr Raza went through my history over the last few years. He carried out a thorough assessment including pelvic examination and transvaginal ultrasound scan. The scan showed a 4cm ovarian cyst on the left ovary and suggested that I may have endometriosis. He explained in detail all the available options to me and went through the pros and cons of each option.

I agreed to go ahead with the surgical option and called his secretary. She booked me for the procedure the next week.

Everything was explained to me in details and instructions were emailed to me about the preparation for the operation. Mr Raza called me the day before to reassure me and also explain everything to me again which I thought was a very caring touch.

I had the operation in Lister hospital and complete endometriosis was removed along with the cyst. It was a keyhole surgery so I was discharged home on the same day. Mt recovery was quick though had pain for the first few days, which was easily controlled with the pain medication.

I recently came for a follow-up, which Mr Raza carried out another scan. Since the operation, I already feel a huge difference. My periods are less painful and less heavy.

I felt I was in complete good hands with Mr Raza. He is extremely experienced and I can tell he has a passion for this. Mr Raza was calm at all times and had a very practical approach. I have now moved on with my work and hoping its all behind me.”

“I am 38 years old and have been suffering from heavy periods and pelvic pain. I developed an increased frequency of urine with mild leakage of urine. I had pelvic scan a year ago which showed a large fibroid. As my symptoms were increasing, I decided to contact a specialist. I called Mr Raza’s office for an appointment and was booked to see him in the same week.

Mr Raza spent a good 30 minutes with me to through my history, carry out a pelvic examination and also a transvaginal ultrasound scan. The scan showed a big fibroid measuring 9.5 cm in the uterus, which was the cause of my pain, very heavy periods and urinary leakage. I was given two options including medical treatment with tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding and pain killers to ease the pain.

The second option was to have a surgical treatment with laparoscopic myomectomy, which is keyhole surgery to remove the fibroid. After considering all the options I wanted to proceed with laparoscopic myomectomy. My operation was booked for the next week. I had the operation in Chelsea and Westminster hospital. Mr Raza’s secretary explained to me the time I needed to fast where I needed to go and what I needed to bring. When I arrived at the private wing I had my own private room and met Mr Raza and the anaesthetist prior to surgery.

My operation went very well and Mr Raza visited me the next day as I needed to stay 1 night for recovery. He also showed me images of the operation, which I found very interesting and helpful.

I returned for my follow up after 10 days for him to review my wounds post-operation. The operations was extremely successful and carried out as planned. 3 months down the line I can see the improvement. I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome.”

“I am 31 years old and have one beautiful girl who is now 2. I have been trying to get pregnant for the last six months. I had a positive pregnancy test and started to bleed around seven weeks. I was very concerned therefore I called Mr Raza’s clinic for an urgent appointment. I was seen on the same day in the evening.

At the appointment, Mr Raza carried out an early pregnancy scan. He explained the scan showed a small gestational sac without a yolk sac. He has asked me to return in a week’s time for a repeat ultrasound scan to see the growth of the sac and the foetal heart beat. Mr Raza gave me his direct contact for me to call him for any emergencies within the week, which was very reassuring. I returned after a week for a repeat scan and unfortunately, the scan showed no growth of the gestational sac and no fetal heartbeat was seen.

Mr Raza gave me the diagnosis of missed miscarriage. I was very sad to hear the news however he was very compassionate and explained all the options to me.

I wanted to go ahead with the surgical evacuation of the retained products of conception as soon as possible and they were able to book me in the next morning at the Lister hospital.

I was very upset therefore called Mr Raza in the evening as I wanted to find out the reason for this.

The operation went ahead as planned without any complication and I was discharged home two hours after the operation.

I wanted to investigate the causes of my miscarriage. Mr Raza arranged for cytogenetics analysis of the sample to investigate chromosomal problems. I also returned to the clinic after two weeks for a series of blood tests for a thorough check.

I had my follow up after my first period since the operation, which was around 6 weeks later. Mr Raza explained all the result and carried out a scan to make sure everything was well again. It was a very sad time for myself and my partner and would not have been able to cope if it was for Mr Raza. He handed the situation so well. He also advised me to contact him on my next positive pregnancy test for medication and to see him for an early dating scan.”
